Counterparts

Counterparts are a melodic hardcore band from Hamilton, ON, who formed in 2007.It’s not often that one finds a band quite like Counterparts in the contemporary heavy music landscape. In a scene where musicianship and integrity are often overshadowed by image, Counterparts have consistently proven themselves to be among the most promising young bands the genre has to offer. The band’s unique blend of hardcore sounds is instantly recognisable.

Pummeling verses and breakdowns seamlessly transition into bright melodies, bound together by an unwavering message of hope and overall positivity. Needless to say, Counterparts have come a long way since their formation in 2007. With a fan base that has progressively expanded beyond the band’s home province, Counterparts have toured Canada relentlessly since March 2009. The band’s upward trajectory truly took off after the release of their debut full-length, Prophets, in February 2010.

The Verona Records release turned heads across the country, as well as beyond its borders. The album was an immediate hit among fans of the hardcore genre, simultaneously garnering praise from scene luminaries and newcomers. Its impact was bold and far-reaching, going so far as to earn the band several award nominations throughout Ontario.

At a point when most bands would take time off to relax, Counterparts proved themselves once again to be as hardworking as they come. In November 2010, the band released a split EP alongside Ontario-based hardcore unit Exalt.

Burgerkill

Venomous is not only a new album that showcased the musicality and the ability of a qualified arrangement of metal band from Bandung. Ten compositions on this album is also a hammer knock the successful ratification of the transition from the old vocalist Ivan 'Scumbag' Firmansyah who died in 2007. Now, after being replaced by their new vocalist Vicky, Burgerkill 2011 managed to show off his new album through a variety of musical ability. As in the "Age of Versus' roaring exciting double bass drumming with the beat. Or the song "Under The Scars" which shows a typical side they are still accompanied by eloquent  medium tempo, solid groovy nan is full of variety 'count' knock. Also do not miss the melodic inserts that had shot a magnificent sensation. All exhibits Burgerkill attack is reminiscent of a typical metal that has the power to 'poison' them easy to spread and spread in the audience. Speaking the development of music, you could say now Burgerkill not only in transition, but also revitalization. As a part of the growl of 'singing' vocal style is reminiscent of the metal band made Gojira sorts. Or a thick metal song groovy blues like Pantera as seen in "For Victory" is also something that is refreshing. One change that was also felt the extinction of depressive lyrics that often decorate various songs in the era of Ivan Scumbag. It was as traumatic as the theme song chanted depression and death lead to a catastrophe, is now shifted to a comfortable position Burgerkill shouting the lyrics full of criticism and growls with the spirit of fire. All the elements in this album shows that the spirit and fiery dedication, Burgerkill now more venomous than doubled.

Fear The Sirens

Fear the sirens started in the early 2011 to fulfill a need to bring back some kind of beliefs and concepts in HC music. For us FTS is more then just a band, is a way to live life, respecting
the codes and the values of the hardcore scene as well as the sounds, but tryin to bring somethin
new… somethin different and fresh, somethin that just reflects what we are, what we care about, and obviously
our influences in music. FTS would like to be a link between the old hc scene and the new generations…
an alternative, a choice… hc with somethin to say, without necessarily bein politically oriented or part of a “faction”.
Hoping u guys we’ll apreciate the sweat and the effort we put into this everyday… cause the only thing that
carry us on day by day is your support!
Through the last year we’ve put all of ourselves to write and produce our first album “THE RUINS WE USED TO CALL HOME”, available NOW!
Now we’re ready to get to your town so we can scream our heart out together!
